What is tree pruning?

Tree pruning is the practice of removing un-desirable parts of a tree without causing additional damage to the remaining canopy.

Before tree pruning – When is tree pruning required?

Tree pruning can be required to correct poor branch form, remove dead branches, reduce elongated branches, remove storm damaged branches, clear branches back from infrastructure. It is a necessary practice to manage these large continuously growing organisms.

It’s important to consider tree pruning over tree removal, as each year the urban coverage of trees throughout Sydney consistently decreases, resulting in a steady decline of native flora and fauna in the region.

The tree pruning process – How tree pruning works?

Most of our tree work is tree pruning, we utilise a combination of the tree climbing method as well as elevated work platforms and we only use arborists with a minimum certification of level III in Arboriculture when pruning our customers trees.

Climbing Method: Our trained arborists utilise specialised tree climbing equipment to ascend the tree safely and efficiently, combining great balance and physical strength they can reach almost any part of the tree to perform the most complex to simple pruning jobs.

Elevated Work Platform (EWP) Method: When there is good access to the tree for machinery it is safer to use an EWP to access the parts of the tree to perform tree pruning.

Class 2: Medium Pruning – Consists of removal of dead and diseased tissue, crossing and weak branches. This includes branches on the main trunk as well those inside the leaf area down to 25mm (1 inch) in diameter (about the size of a dollar coin)

Class 5: Reduction Pruning – Consists of the reduction of top, sides, under branches or individual branches without detriment to the health of the tree. Often used in cases of utility clearance, or specific topiary or pollarding.

Crown Raising

Crown Raising is a method of removing specific branches to raise the canopy height over a pathway, building, or road.

Hedging

We can all appreciate a well-manicured hedge, unfortunately most hedges are out of reach of most property  owners. Balancing on ladders attempting to get the straight line on top with not the right equipment is dangerous and very time consuming.

We have maintained hedges as little as a waist height hedge along a front fence to a 30ft conifer hedge 150m in length.

If you have a hedge that’s in need of some attention, give our team a call!

Palm Tree Trimming

Palm Tree Trimming, also known as palm tree pruning or palm tree cleaning, removes dead fronds and seed pods from palm trees as well as cleaning of building up debris from the trunk of the palm.

OUR TREE PRUNING IN SYDNEY IS GUARANTEED.

If a fine or medium-pruned tree suffers storm damage during the next 12 months, we’ll remove the injured area for free from your property.
